What is a refrigerant?
A refrigerant is a special substance that is used in air conditioning and cooling systems to transfer heat and create a cooling effect. It circulates through the closed system of the air conditioner, changing its state from liquid to gaseous and back again. During evaporation, the refrigerant absorbs heat from the environment, which reduces the temperature of the air entering the car interior. Then, in the process of compression and condensation, it turns back into a liquid and gives this heat out. Thus, it is thanks to the refrigerant that the air is cooled, creating comfortable conditions in the car even on the hottest days. Today, the most common refrigerants are R134A and R1234YF, which are safe for the system and have a high efficiency coefficient.
